LAYER #1
A culture of compliance

Everything starts and ends with people.

Building a culture of compliance is an imperative that positions us to adapt to changes and thrive in the long term. Everyone knows what’s at stake and every person at Alpine Bio and in our partner orbit understands their roles in upholding our standards and proactively identifying and mitigating risks. This clarity of purpose enhances morale and engagement, as our employees and partners take pride in contributing to our mission and success.

LAYER #2
ETS

Our Foundation

Our CLS foundation is built from globally recognized industry standards and best practices. In April 2024, we received our Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS) accreditation from Global Stewardship Group.

Quality Management

This reflects our dedication to top-tier product stewardship and quality management across the agricultural biotechnology lifecycle, including employee training, product traceability, incident response, proper disposal, meticulous record-keeping, vendor management, and rigorous auditing. Our Incident Response Plan ensures we're always ready to swiftly address any safety or containment issues, embodying our unwavering commitment to security and the integrity of our products in every situation in real time.

LAYER #3
Additional Measures

Tailored Approach

We’ve developed a tailored approach to our CLS by layering new processes, controls, and technologies on top of established industry best practices at every stage of the product life cycle, from crop production in the field through grain and co-product processing and formulation, including those listed below.

Crop Selection

Selecting the right plant variety from the outset is crucial to mitigate the risk of outcrossing. Soybeans, being a self-pollinating crop, offer additional safeguards compared to crops that are more prone to cross-pollination.

On Farm Responsible partnerships

RESPONSIBLE PARTNERSHIPS: Tightly controlled contractual partnerships with like minded operators that are committed to the CLS and on containment.

CROP PRODUCTION: Clear protocols for growers. On the ground active Alpine Bio management. Buffer zones to mitigate risk of commingling. Appropriate post-harvest land use.

EQUIPMENT & STORAGE: Field equipment and storage facilities dedicated for the duration of use in the growing season. Thorough cleaning procedures with post-cleanout verification.

PERFORMANCE AUDITS AND RECORDKEEPING: Maintaining a chain of custody. Performance auditing and associated recordkeeping for field inspections, equipment cleaning, storage facility management and any other critical activities occurring at the farm or in the field.

Transportation & Storage

EQUIPMENT: Equipment including trailers, hoppers, bins, or other bulk grain containers dedicated for the duration of use. Validated and verified cleaning protocols.

TRACKING & AUDITING: Track and trace grain shipments. Performance auditing and monitoring of storage and transport conditions. Rapid assays to confirm the material content.

STORAGE FACILITIES: Storage facilities dedicated for the duration of us. Validated and verified cleaning protocols.

TESTING: Rapid assays to confirm the identity of material in storage.

Processing

RESPONSIBLE PARTNERSHIPS: Tightly controlled contractual partnerships with like minded cooperators that are committed to the CLS and focus on segregation.

FOOD SAFETY: Create a food safety plan to access risks and mitigate commingling.

EQUIPMENT & STORAGE: Storage, processing lines and equipment dedicated for the duration of the processing run. Validated and verified cleaning and sanitation protocols.

TESTING: Rapid assays testing to verify effective sanitation.

MANAGEMENT: Software based management tools to track materials and inventory, and to monitor quality and traceability.

LAYER #4
Industry Betterment

Our Commitment

We never settle, and are always improving our systems and approaches. Our commitment to supply chain integrity and food safety extends far beyond our company, aiming to elevate the entire industry.

We've established an industry working group to foster collaboration and to share best practice insights to ensure that the industry as a whole has resources and a framework to create their own bespoke CLS. Fostering collaboration, we ensure that insights and best practices are shared and adopted in real time, driving collective progress and innovation.
